Persons in the executive branch of our government view the world as their oyster and that they should be the only ones allowed at the table of proclamations and dictates. Not worthy are protesting citizens, the judiciary, “the media,” any quantifiable data and anyone who disagrees with the oyster king. The legislature is temporarily immune from cast-away status while the great sucking sounds reverberate in the halls of congress.
This all started with a political party not having a moral compass and rewarding a bully, liar, and contemptuous braggart. Some took the oyster king literally, and some took him seriously. Now, as Rachel Maddow suggests, we should watch what he does, not what he says. The cabinet appointees are in place to destroy each of the institutions they supposedly are to lead. As the bricks and data of government are swept into the rising oceans, the voices of democracy rise.
The oyster king may enjoy dismantling some of the government, but he will never silence the voices of the people. It is time that we took our democracy seriously and participate…vote, protest, organize, and lead. It is time we took our democracy back from the few outrageously wealthy. An autocracy has no place in America.
We are the RESISTANCE.
